Goethe's Path
The first rays lead the forest path from night
Penetrating an ocean of dead leaves
Staining the trees in a soft yellow light
Leaving this path to enchantments conceived
Fading away is dusk grey in flight
The sun rises with flowing gold received
Melting away clouds left since twilight
Warming each petal so the flowers don't grieve
Welcoming the morning, birds enter my sight
As I walk this forest path that weaves
This path I'm on is covered in sunlight
Contains more life than first perceived
