God Help My Child

She's standing on the train tracks and the train is bearing down. She does not see the headlight and she cannot hear the sound. I am screaming out to warn her, but my words fall on deaf ears. She's living in a nightmare, only angered by her fears. As the massive train approaches, I can only stand and stare. I am powerless, a shadow in the quicksand of despair. The ground begins to tremble and it vibrates through my bones. My firstborn child, I've failed her, on the train track, all alone. ©Danielle White

Just pray Danielle, it's so much eaiser to keep them safe when they are underfoot. Its so hard as a mom to let them walk their own paths. Especially when you see the trains coming. Laurie

NO you didn't not fail her sometimes no matter how we try to help our children they must see through things in their own way. I feel your pain a confusion in your strong emotional write. Stay close to God and pray for strength in his arms! Peace & Love for your pain! Laura:(

The fear behind this poem is so evident.....as a mom...I can't imagine that desperate feeling of not being able to stop the "train wreck". My prayer that all turns out well, whatever happens, that both of you will come out of that dark tunnel into the sun. God Bless ~~ Carrie

I can't believe you as the parent can fail her, but rather she may be at that point where she doesn't want to hear, like with teenagers. I have that with my son as he wants to make his own mistakes while I know they can be avoided. We do our best anyway. This is quite clear and a poignant read, accurate with the imagery and pain that can be incurred. Good luck to you both. Michael
