Glasses
Ever since I can remember
My vision was blurry.
Everything melted and melded together.
I ran into things, and hurt my toes
And always needed my glasses.
With glasses, the world seemed clear.
I could see out into the horizon, and
The mountains in big sky Montana
It all is wondrous, and it all sparkles
But leaves nothing to imagine.
We see it all, as clear as day
And it is quite astounding
But it leaves nothing to discover
Or wonder for creating the image
Of your dreamland
And as I look out windows
Gaze up and through the clouds
And look down from the balcony
Sometimes I wish I couldn’t see clear
The mind paints a better picture.
