Giving In To Lunacy

As echoes of voices resound in my head My eyes, they then strain as I tumble from bed So loud is the nonsense that’s calling me on As I listen to voices speaking right and some wrong My response becomes louder as I shriek with each sound For so many, many voices are there to be found Each one is quite distinct in its very own way But, with one thing in common, they have something to say The more that I listen, the less that I know As they all pull me downward, so down I must go My descent to the unknown, a spiraling fear With hopes that when fallen, there’s nothing to hear

Hello Michael Isn't that the truth, we all have these voices that live inside of us, all yearning to be heard. They give us food for thought to ponder, to think, so our understanding grows. Some may even call it imagination. The ending here is dark but shows the need for control and how to keep thoughts in perspective. One never wants to be held captive by them for sure right. Excellent! Enjoyed much. Blessings to you and yours. Love Light Truth Patricia

Great last line to close this piece. Nice use of rhyme to forward your thoughts. I think we all need to give into a bit of lunacy once in awhile. Life tends to be far to serious. Thank you for sharing your poem with us and for your ongoing support. Keep on writing! Karen

Oh, that is dark! I know what you mean, all the clammering "I's" trying to have their say...you should read G.I. Guirdjieff, the most enlightened man of his age. Well written, it takes a lifetime or more to boil it down to just one...love Kristin
