Give the Dog a Bone

Give the dog a bone So I slunk back into my safety hole Realising I’d teased the blackdog too much Complacency I told myself Brave until the bark bit Tearing into old wounds Foolish I told myself You cant teach an old dog new tricks Just control it with old ones Safety I told myself Give the dog a bone A new one to gnaw on Subtle changes i told myself In time the blackdog will trust Tamed, it will let in the light Don’t give up I told myself

Very creative I should say, Laura. Often we find it best to tread on known and secure ground, but with some more self belief we can reach new heights. ~ Regards // paul

Thank you Paul, the darkness is often too appealing when that is what one is used to feeling, familiar and known. Anxiety and depression holding on tight, but a spark of light creates the hope and motivation. The trick being, make small changes for longer lasting effect. (In my case anyway). Warm regards, Laura.
