GHOST OF THE PAST
GHOST OF THE PAST
In life's graveyard, where shadows dwell,
Though the past summons like a knell
That beckons, leading to heaven or hell.
For brooding memories often scar,
But in your body, let spirit & soul be at par.5
Don't mourn the dark past,
Instead, for the future, hold steadfast.
The echoes of what's gone before,
Need not resound or cause a sore,
Neither should it define you anymore.¹°
Release the chains that hold you back,
Embrace the light & again, hits the track.
Each day is a precious, gleaming chance,
To lift off from your grave and faded trance,
Each day helps you rise above your circumstance.¹5
Don't let the whispers of regret,
That you could've saved him from onset,
Consume your soul & cause you to fret.
Instead, let go and don't set him free.
Those ghosts that haunt, will all flee.²°
Embrace the present, here and now,
With hope and courage, take a bow.
For in this moment, you shall find,
The power within to leave behind,
The buried dark past inside the earth,
And let your spirit know its worth.
So don't let the past forever bind,
Your spirit as you journey and find,
New joys and dreams yet to be pursued.
Let the ghost past witness a new prelude.³°
Don't let the past hurt you as you brood,
Instead, let it shape you, make you good.
For in life's graveyard, seeds can grow,
Blossom, become unique & so, let it show.³4
