Ghost

I think about you almost every day Remembering your birth as the memories fade So grown up in pictures taken I hope you know she's been mistaken Empty feelings I loved your more than most See you fading Like a ghost Bitter hearts I was you father, almost Pride got in the way You only know me Like a ghost You will never know the real me Only what you've heard You might have been proud If you would hear my word You grew up well So it's not all bad wish I would have had the chance For you to call me dad Whispers all around Like a whipping post Your silhouette is fading Like a ghost At least I will have the memories To that I'll raise a toast Haunting my dreams Just like a ghost
