Getting By

By Laura July 27, 2015 If I make it through the day Can you help me find my way? If I lived beyond this mess The deepest depths of loneliness Marking changes of the tide Swallowing my desperate pride Holding dreams that want to die Am I standing by another lie? Maybe one day you'll understand Keep me warm and hold my hand But Darling, where are you now? I'm giving up on all my vows I couldn't tell you what I need Some days I really want to bleed Why can't you seem to understand? At best I'm hanging by a strand I hope this paints my picture well I've changed my name, so what the hell Let's throw away this history I don't care what you think you see One day I'll see you'll my face again And you will see right through my skin Tommorow speaks of better days But will it be a reason to stay? I'm slowly drifting off to sleep A crazy, aimless little dream
