Getting Better

i made cupcakes yesterday and watched the sunset from the highway and i wrote you a letter saying that i'm getting better even though i'll never mail it. to you, i'm not worth the fight and maybe you're right but i swear, i'll shake this soon. a battle won inside my head may not look big to you but it means the world to me. a galactic trophy that only i can see. and i'm nervous just to say the words because everything's a cycle. triumphant moments sit on islands surrounded by the empty water. i think i'm getting better. i think i'm getting angrier. i'm ready to fight until the flame goes cold because everything's a cycle and there's only so much i can do. and i know why you left me because i would leave me, too.
