Gethsemane

After supper Jesus went out to pray his friends kept watch some distance away. “Father, spare me this test, yet you know what is best.” Well fed they did doze to Jesus' dismay. “Could not you keep awake just one hour? Beware lest you fall to the tempter's power. The Spirit may be ready but the flesh isn't steady.” Once more he prayed for enduring willpower. Returning from prayer in hope of backing, James, Peter and John, still they were napping. “Enough! The hour is here, my betrayer is near to give me a kiss, one that's entrapping. Mark 14.32-42

This is a fantastically creative retelling of Gethsemane in limerick form. You are the only other person besides myself that I've seen who tells stories using limericks. I enjoyed it! Blessings, Kim M
