Howard Robard Hughes Jr. was an American entrepreneur, known during his lifetime as one of the most financially successful individuals in the world. Wikipedia

Born: December 24, 1905, Humble, TX

Died: April 5, 1976, Houston, TX

Buried: Glenwood Cemetery, Houston, TX

Spouse: Jean Peters (m. 1957–1971), Terry Moore (m. 1949–1976), Ella Rice (m. 1925–1929)

A side note: Although he hated germs, curiously, this bizarre man shunned personal hygiene and let himself go so badly at the end, he died at 92 pounds and with rotting teeth. This very interesting guy has had a few movies made about him. The latest and one of my favorites of this season's movies, "Rules Don't Apply," stars Warren Beatty as Howard Hughes in his days as a Hollywood producer!

Germaphobe Howard Hughes - reclusive billionaire - made a plane of wood and loved to ride the air! Bought his own hotel, just to hide himself from sight and watched his own TV station’s movies late at night.

Reads like winning work..Way to go for the contest..Sad to know that a man of such means died in such a way..I believe that he had some type of mental illness they had not identified at his time of death..Thanks for all the visits to my page..Sara

Very good and informative, Clerihew, Andrea. That is very strange that someone who abhorred germs, made his body a breeding ground for them. I really liked this poem. Happy New Year to you, dear. May love be upon your heart and peace in your path always.
