Gene's Dolls

Tea time approaches, invitation honoured. With hard plastic biscuits and empty cups, Seating, staring at them, I wondered... I wished and hope they could speak up. I dressed them well and brushed their hair, Sit them down where I imagined they would be, Examining their stillness, their smiles that care. The longer I stare, the more I see two strangers looking at me. It used to be cheerful. Well something's amiss, A confusion flooding my being while hope bottles me in. Where are the parks, the beach, our hugs and my kiss? Shut my eyes tightly in noises during sleep, only pretending. When stars appear, to bed I go, Tucking in now comes rarely in twos, I will keep them close, between and under blankets from the Cold, Please watch over me together like how my mom and dad used to.
