GASPERATIONS
When my heart beats ten times it’s as if nine are mine
And the other one is reserved for a beautiful beat number ten
But she walked out on a partnership that was falling apart
When the lady entered a room she centered the eyes of too many men
And the sum would be incalculable of every man who she still owns their heart
There would be too many men with moist handkerchiefs to wipe away their tears
Trying to smile when they recalled something cute she used to do
There must be hundreds of broken hearts behind her after forty-five years
And I was one of many men, with heavy emotion only a strong man bears
There were different, odd, and assorted men with assorted aspirations and names
that rhyme
There was Phil, Bill, Will, Gill until all of them were nil
She was an extravagant lady and certainly not one a man should nickel or dime
And when dinner was over came champagne, a gem and lovemaking were the bill
But one man took matters into his hands and did what had to be done
And I’m warning you ahead of time for me this a horrid and lengthy tale
I took out my grievances, my heartache and pain with fully loaded gun
And if you want to write me for the rest of my life mail a letter c/o this jail
