Garden Treasure

The rhododendron is my state flower. In nature its blossom is pink, But horticulturists have made the bloom Any color of which you can think. I go to the garden store to buy one, To plant in my garden at home. I take much longer to choose my new plant Than I do in writing this poem. "It will grow very fast " the salesman said, "And blossom in purple and red." Written: April 18, 2016

cleverly written to the last line prompt, Joyce. flows like honey on toast. I enjoyed it and congrats on the placement. I liked the remark comparing the length of time it took to choose a rhododendrum and write the poem.

The last line reads as sardonic, a perfect reason to place your poem high in my contest, Joyce. Congratulations!

Lovely moments of poetry in the poem ( with a curiosity : what happened then, in a suggestion of story molecules...)
