Garbage

The trash keeps rising in a heap upon the slopes of Everest. Ungrateful climbers make her weep. The trash keeps rising in a heap until it’s wrath that they will reap for heeding not her one request. Thank you for reading and commenting, Janis. I think it is only fair that those who litter ought to clean up what they can before leaving. ~ Regards // paul

Paul, nature is deaf, and people are blind to posted signs about littering.I wonder how they'd react to others throwing trash on their front lawns? You did well with a difficult form, at least for me. / M

Hi Connie! I was determined to raise awareness about Everest's plight. She is a host to many climbers, but after they obtain what they want, they go off, leaving the place in a mess! I am glad that you like this poem; I have read some very good entries with unique ideas, so making the winners' list won't be easy. ~ Regards // paul

Thank you, Jan. Glad that you like it; it's only short, but it took me more than expected because I just could not figure out the right flow! ~ It's estimated that there are about 50 tons of trash that climbers have left behind on Mount Everest. It's time to clear up the mess! Hugs // paul
