Game Over

You can’t take it back What you said…. What you wrote…. In a moment of anger In a moment of haste Your pent up emotions Your seething frustration Needing escape Needing to hit the mark To prove a point Needing to win This little game! You did… You proved your point Satisfied? Yes, Your word darts hit the mark… That Big RED center circle of my heart In remorse... You pull the dart back out Hiding it behind your hand... Apologies heard Apologies accepted But take a look at my heart One more pockmark… One more reason for me To want to end... This game called LIFE. Eileen Manassian Ghali

Wow, Eileen this is a very powerful toned poem. The choice of words fit exactly and portrays it in an even better way then most could ever express it. Over-all very well written. :)

The pain is real, cuts just like steel. From both sides of what's said. Regret of heated battle when your face turns bloody red. A peaceful breeze under the trees is a nice place to cool down. Some time can help to ease the hurt and not feel like a clown. :)

Robert..what a lovely poetic response! :) I have often wished I had KEPT MY MOUTH SHUT! But...being a bit on the emotion side of the fence makes it harder for me. I need divine strength! Thanks for the kind visit.

Oh, Eileen... You are SO good at describing these kinds of emotions. It's so true, isn't it? Once words are said, they can never truly be taken back. We forgive, but we never really forget.

Heather, so true...and so sad. The tongue has the power to heal or kill. Thanks for your visit. Like seeing your face here as one of my visitors! ;)

Okay poetic licence aside, if you feel this way it's time to talk to someone. I know I am just a person in some other place far away but as a friend I want you to know I am concerned for you. I hope you have someone you can expess what you are currently going through with.

I'm glad to hear this is in the past, if it isn't I hope you are seeking out help and not suffering silently.

Thanks, Richard. You aren't as far as you think. This kind of concern does much to help alleviate the pain. I'm doing well now...but I won't kid you....I've passed that way...I know SOMEONE is watching over me!

Wow! You could never take back those words, some will say they were only joking. Lets face it some words just aren't worth saying. Nice read.
