Funeral Day

Laid to rest, buried under. Flesh to bone, dust to clay. I taste the bitterness of loss shrouded in a veil of grey, feel the numbing torment gathered all around. The agony of minds hammers aching hearts. Voices vibrate suffering, prayers throb the biting air. Dark shadows, leaden, gathered all around. In memory of John who died suddenly on 11 January 2012 aged 55. © mmc
