Fruits We Reap
I was born intelligent
As the years crept by
I met many agents
And turning to say goodbye
It was me no longer
At some point
I was zestful
Determined to make it
To see my dreams realized
But I lacked the guts for it
It takes HARDWORK, yes
Hardwork that rewards
It takes DETERMINATION, yes
Determination that spurs
It takes CONCENTRATION, yes
I lost them all
Courtesy, the many agents
I am with a brush, soap and towel
The posh car comes to a stop
I run to meet it
Before the other boys do
It is my friend
A friend I haven't seen
Since we said goodbye
After school was done
I run
I hide
I cry
I weep
I call it wasted years
Life, why hast thou treated me thus?
I scream
It is the seed I have sown
The fruit I must reap
The fruit I must eat.
