Frozen Hopes

A pale moon sets the scene As twilight comes to call The first snowflakes are seen as temperatures slowly fall Bringing shivers to all The fireplace burns bright As Christmas carols play Bringing cheer on a wintry night The wind chill factor they say will make it feel like zero before day A bone chilling wind howls As my coffee mug steams In the frigid night old man winter scowls As shivering hopes fall by the fireplace, agleam Trying to attain a summer dream *** 11-24-2013

Joseph, I'm not a fan of winter, and this poem expresses my longing. My cats, I think, believe they can find summer, if they just find the right door.
