From the Temple
From in her temple beauty calls to me,
Her voice the song within my dark shadow,
This love I crave yet I must set her free
My heart will bring her naught but blind sorrow.
To kiss her now and curse her tomorrow
One thing I dare not do, despite desire
Such wanton lust I have no right to know
My eyes still seek it in the flames of fire.
For love is cruel, with fate it will conspire
And yields me sleepless nights in torment's reign,
I see the torch and could ignite her pyre
Then in that moment cause a greater pain.
I fight the urge because my love is true,
To cause her pain I‘ve sworn I'll never do.
