From the Start
Those years when I was much younger and strong,
time flew---and I thought that The Bible was wrong.
I could not quite see, and so I would fight.
The Bible did not seem so proper, or right.
Mem'ries of old swept through to depart.
I could not believe in Your Word from the start.
Bereft of the concepts my parents had taught,
my soul soon became frustrated---distraught;
no peace could I find inside this heart of mine,
for something was missing...I could not define.
Somehow I thought wealth was what I should search for;
conviction still lingered, there by my heart's door.
The pleasures of sin emptied my selfish life,
and left me with naught, except pain and great strife.
I fell to my knees, and I asked for God's grace...
and found much better things filling my empty space.
