From the Mist

I walked along the golden strand and touched my soles to sun scathed sand This is where we did meet on that day by the sea Then blown in on the wind I saw her there, fair of skin She came from mist of salt in air, a white sun dress and auburn hair We spent our time without a care on that day by the sea A lighthouse witnessed so profound the love we made on sun drenched ground I lusted for her, and she for me on that day by the sea when we walked along the cay I did not know she couldn't stay As waves took castles from the sand the wind then swept her from my hand, and back to mist above the strand on that day by the sea If again she's blown in on the wind and comes to me to anew begin Ill ask that she does stay with me to live to love and forever be, that great day by the sea

Bradley, the imagery is stunning and sad... your poem made me realize how easy it is to let one slip away. Touching words, and memory.... xox~ LINDA
