From the Heart of a Deaf Child

What a welcome I received when I arrived on earth People all around the world were excited by my birth After nine long months of growing the day finally came For me to make my entrance and receive a brand new name Everyone was happy their hearts were filled with cheer Until the doctor told them that I couldn't hear All the joy I had seen when I came into the light Was now interrupted by faces filled with fright My parents could not hold back tears But I could clearly see They didn't care that I was deaf I knew they wanted me They knew that God had special plans To use me like I am Whether I can hear or not I'm still His little lamb As I grow up in the world as hard as it may be I know the Lord is on my side and He will help me see That I'm a special masterpiece created out of love Sent to earth to fulfill the plans of God above Even though I can't hear I'm as special as can be And with God's help I'll do my best to make you proud of me
