From Another Land
Light falters in through the cracks
of an ancient wall
While the moss grows lime green on
stones near the shore
In another land
people are filled with bright expectations
Over the sounding sea
the sound of sea horns can be heard
The broad expanse of the ocean
will be crossed
As new wayfarers come to our land
Bringing with them shards of memory
of cultures unknown to these shores
Bringing with them shards of "storied pomp"
