From a Sleepless Night
...and I begin these thoughts
Again.
My mind’s a haunted place,
Inhabited with ghosts;
Phantoms that I,
Myself,
Conjured then be scared of.
Insecurity’s a beast
That eats me like so much meat,
While I waste away
From sickly lack of sleep;
And this beast I feed
And nurse with fear
That I never
Ever
Measure up.
Then I begin these thoughts
Again...
