From a Hell Doing Time

As I read each word on every line, that he wrote from a hell doing time, my heart hurt so deep inside, how many tears has this mother cried... He talked about how he hurt those he loved, and all those days I didn't know where he was, I could tell the tears were falling from his eyes, he said mother, I'm done with all my lies.... Then he told me he was ashamed of his past, and did I think we could ever move on, I assured him with all my heart, and soul, a mother can't rest until her child is home. Then he said something that made me smile, as he talked about how things were inside, so many in here don't have a friend, I have my Bible, that's how I have survived. Then I knew my son would be just fine, now he knew with all his heart, and soul, his Savior saved him, and gave him comfort from within, that goes to show, Jesus follows us wherever we go.

This twists my gut and conflicts me. Having gone down a path that may be similar to your sons', and knowing that my mother had to hear me utter words of false faith before, I sincerely hope all is going well for your son and for you. All of that happened years ago in my past, but the scars are fresh and the memory quick. Good work and great emotion. Thanks.

Yes he does it is just so sad when a mother have to hear these words from behind bars or another place besides home. Her love is unconditional our children should see this. Great write. thank you for reading my work.

Christy, my heart is with you today.I pray that his life continues on the right path. Sometimes we have to learn the hard way from experience before we can appreciate what our lives can and should be. Love and blessings to you both always, Carol

mama's are like god. they love us and care for us no matter what. but they have one clear advantage they can talk back to you; even from the grave. John H Loving III

Now the healing begins! It has to be hard and I remember how low you got worrying about your son. This could be his chance to get his life back on track, it sounds like he is trying to make his life better. Sometimes when we realize who has real power in our lives it gives us a place to go with those problems. God Bless and know you and your family are always in our prayers. Ron

Wherever we are, even in prison, God is with us. This is a very sincere, heartfelt poem that reflects the love and forgiveness you feel toward your son. I hope his spiritual values steer on a good course in the future. Great to see your poetry again, Christy. Wishing you holiday blessings. Love, Carolyn
