Frightened and Unsure
On the fringes of shattered dreams,
illusion feigns normality.
And mute echoes of silent screams,
cast shadows on morality.
Falling off the edge of despair,
cascading tears pool on the ground.
Yet unrequited love doesn't care
whether or not you stick around.
Passion's elation turns to grief
as denial conceals the truth.
And your broken heart seeks relief,
outside the innocence of youth.
Reality begins to bend,
leaving you frightened and unsure.
And yet, you don't want hope to end,
feeling hypnotized by love's lure.
