Friendship

Because of Friendship Because she was my friend I called her every afternoon. To talk girl talk and ask her, To help me with my studies. I wrote her often when she went away, And begged her to think before she married, I didn't want to see her hurt. Because she was my friend. I helped her watch her kids when she got sick, And cleaned her house and kept her yard. I wept and carried flowers to her grave. Because she was my friend. He was like a brother from another time. I laughed at all his faults He did not mind. He knew I always understood. I called him more than once to help me move. And vetted all his girlfriends, every one. I picked up his bad habits and we laughed, We were young and foolish for a while. I searched for him on Facebook yesterday To see how good or bad his has life had been. Not for any reason but one thing. I have not forgotten he's my friend. I think of Christ and all his majesty, The King in all his greatness he stooped low. And took the cross and with it all our sin. To free us because He is our friend. He left His heaven oh so long ago. And came down to earth and bled and died. That I a pauper might walk beside a King He did this, because He is our friend.
