Friends In the Shadows By Er Haider Khan

In the shadows of the night, When sorrow tries to take its might. My friends are like shining beacons, Erasing my pain and my demons. With snorter and with cheer, They chase away my every tear. In the hostel, aloof from home, Their absence makes me feel so alone. They bring me joy and make me glad, Their friendship a comfort I would never have. With them by my side, I feel so free, From all the sadness that used to be. For a life should have friends so true, Who make the darkest nights bright and new. I am exalted to have them in my life, Who make my heart free from all the strife. Being with them, my world is bright, And everything feels just right.
