French Toast
Egg
Milk
Some bread
Add butter
In a frying pan
Heat your frying pan modestly.
Beat the egg, add the milk, dip the bread in that mixture.
Each slice of dipped bread is added to the pan, and cooked gently until both sides are browned.
It may be known as “French Toast” today, but did you know that before the First World War, nearly everybody referred to it as “German Toast”?
