Today, outside my window, little birds started building their nest.
Though this is a hard world for them, they are so free.
They can flap their wings and leave the world below for what it is.
Their love is so real, they never wonder if what they do is right.
They build, produce offspring, move on. Next year the same.
I want such freedom, of body, of mind, of choice.
You want to choose your life, sexuality, partner.
Today I am your bird, small, vulnerable, fluttering in your hand.
Tomorrow you are my bird, heart racing, quiet, fearful against me.
We do not choose who or what we are, we cannot choose our destiny freely.
But our hearts have chosen, our minds can find freedom.
By simply spending time together and speak about everything important or silly.
