Freedom

Free from your body This earthly cage This was the final chapter You've flipped last page We are left here, looking Upon this empty shell The vessel in which you traveled Had turned into your Hell We are thankful it has ended Although sad, to see you go The angels came to take you Just days before the snow As you look down upon us Remember us and smile Although temporarily parted We will join you in a while

I am sure that you must write better 'freedom' than this. I am waiting....

This poignant write touches the soul. It calls us to the reality of the passing of loved ones. It then gives us the hope of reunion. It says everything I'd want to say on such occasions. Well done my friend. Thanks for this and many other fine posts.... Jake

I am thankful for this poem...it reminds me of my boyfriends Gramdmother Ellie...I had known her for just a short time but I loved her evenso...and she loved me...i was the only girlfriend he had ever had that she liked and thought was good enough for him...she kept asking for me before she went but I never got the chance to say goodbye...though I know that crazy loving woman is still with us. Thank you for sharing
