Flowing from sad eyes, weeping while mourning Rivers of tears caused by words of lewd scorning Angry insults inflict wounds too painful to abide Garnering grief that no gentle person could hide Imagine the suffering vile contentions can start Lamentable lacerations that pierce a fragile heart Emotional bruises often tear relationships apart How can sensitive people protect themselves? Words can be the worst of weapons, they can fracture a fragile heart and destroy relationships. Kindness is the key to happiness I believe. Hateful and cruel words have no place in a relationships that is supposedly built on love. This is beautifully done Lin and very impactful. Good luck in the contest.

Very wise and truthful poem, Lin. This acrostic form was penned exceptionally well. I will try my hand in doing one. Probably a pseudonym bio theme. Your poem really helped spark my imagination. Ty for sharing such a thoughtful and insightful poem. First one of yours I've read. So many talented poetesses/poets, so little time to read them all ... aah ... now I know why Atlas weeps. Thank you, Freddie. How kind are your words, so now I'll encourage you to create an Acrostic (to end rhyme or not). But do not weep as Atlas did because reading is not the weight of the world you must bear. In due time you'll find the poets most worthy of reading. RW...a pseudonym I'll have to verify ~ lol

verbal abuse in a relationship is just as damaging as physical abuse but the scars on a heart cannot be seen . powerfully penned acrostic Lin!:-) hugs jan xx
