Four Children's Poems
Mud balls dusted flour white,
are summer snowballs
tossed in a fight.
..........................................
I saw a little brown bird
swallow a fat, wiggly worm.
I wonder if I ate one,
would it make my belly squirm?
............................................
I saw a line of black ants
rushing down a hill.
Even little ants, I guess,
can have a fire drill.
...........................................
Six sizzling hot dogs
jumped off daddy's grill.
While grandma played the harmonica
our dinner danced down the hill.
With bun in hand, we ran,
and we're running, running, still!
.....................................................
Author's note: Why not take your children on a treasure hunt,
perhaps, just around the block, or, even in your own back yard.
There are treasures all around, just waiting to be found!
