Forsaken
I was cradled in her arms
I rested on her breast
I listened to her heartbeat
It soothed me when I cried
Yet for all these nurturing things
God has given to mankind
They can still forsake the little ones
Life to them has bestowed
But God declares-
Yes they may forget,
But little ones who come to me
I shall never ever forget-
Their names are written
On my nail torn hands.
