Forgotten Souls
Forgotten Souls
There are people on the streets
Sitting on cement, ignored.
Without a care from others
Why their lives were torn apart.
There are abused children
Who no-one tried to save.
Silence won over speaking up
Some went to their graves.
There are wounded animals
In cages with no friend
Waiting for a loving home.
There are strangers who are judged
By those who know nothing.
There are wrongfully convicted
Stuck misunderstood in their prison
Unable to prove their case.
We are no better than forgotten souls.
Let us not forget them
Or the meaning of life.
To give, to love, to care, just care.
For one another here.
This journey is not a race and
They are not merely spectators.
