Forgotten Cottage
Forgotten Cottage
The little cottage set on top of the hill
So run down but I loved it still
Once a beauty it was built with old stone
I would like to know who made it a home
Around it mountains as far as you can see
A beautiful place to make a life and be free
Collapsing roof and broken windows fell out
Dreamy blue sky makes me want to shout
Inside ancient old cook stove all rusted and worn
Just sitting there all alone looking forlorn
Out in the meadow wildflowers bloom by the piles
In the tall grass coyotes and deer play for a while
Forgotten in time the old cottage will be mine
Forever to live there with my love and be fine. . .
