Forgive and Forget
As the sunset fades
I’ve lost the light of day
I can’t take the pain
Feels like my struggles were all in vain
I trusted you
I saw your words as true
You said that you care
But in the end
You were never there
I’ve carried these burdens
For far too long
I’ve carried you
While singing this song
I put my faith in you
I guess it was too good to be true
Now I’ll say goodbye
Please don’t ask me why
My back is bleeding
My soul is screaming
I’ve lost my faith in you
My back is bleeding
My soul is screaming
I’ve lost my faith in you
You’ve lied about the truth
Get the hell away from me
I’ve opened my eyes
And this is what I see
I swear I’ll never quit
You’re just so full of sh**!
I’ve carried these burdens
For far too long
I’ve carried you
While singing this song
I put my faith in you
I guess it was too good to be true
Now I’ll say goodbye
Please don’t ask me why
I guess I should thank your disguise
Cause now I can see past the lies
What a friend you were
When you were never there
I’ve finally saw the light
I’ve finally won the fight
In the end it’s Christ that’s true
So now it’s time to go on
Without you
Forget you!
I trusted you
I saw your words as true
You said that you care
But in the end
You were never there
I’ve carried these burdens
For far too long
I’ve carried you
While singing this song
I put my faith in you
I guess it was too good to be true
Now I’ll say goodbye
Please don’t ask me why
No matter what you’ve done
Through all the wrong
I forgive you
Cause I’m holding on to what’s true
Just don’t expect things to stay the same
I’m done with these games
It’s time for me to forgive and forget
I refuse to live in regret
I’ve carried these burdens
For far too long
I’ve carried you
While singing this song
I put my faith in you
I guess it was too good to be true
Now I’ll say goodbye
Please don’t ask me why
