Forever

Forever. It's what you promised me. But you broke it. The meaning hasn't changed, But you misinterpreted it. My heart clung onto those words. So sweet and soothing. And now I'm broken... Forever. Forever, we said. Forever, we promised. Forever, we lost. Forever, we hurt. We always hurt, Running through the night, We never got to where we needed to go, And there beamed a light, Shining a path, Just for us. Engraved upon my metal ring. A promise in every diamond, But regret in everything. Marry for money and get all you want, Marry for Love and get all you need. We must leave, I beg and I plead, Please we must flee. There are monsters chasing, That rip and tear, It's a cruel death we are facing, We must run to stay free. For we are hunted by cruelty Hatred Power Fear For that which they do not understand. For we are all small scared little people. We don't fear the dark, Only what could be lurking. Only the unknown. oh only the unknown Can answer the question, When science can't prove, And Faith can't explain, Who do we turn to To stop the pain?
