Forest Phantoms
A will forlorn without release
The things forgot still bring disease
A dream of man to want a war
The nightmare comes, but I still want more
Shifting shapes stalking through night
To my surprise, I’m frozen in fright
The darkness climbs up to the sky
Upon a tree with fixated eyes
Nameless things speaking of death
A place that sings without any breath
Time now fades into one truth
The darkness stalks; it waters my roots
Tears and stone are what I’ve become
The creature grows, but then the sun-
….Nothing there because there never was
The light breaks through and now I can walk
Forests die and forests awake
A void will thrive until there is day
A dream of man to want a war
The nightmare ends when the sun shows us more
