she sat beside the window looking out a world now blurred by burden of her tears by sorrow sated, yet she had no doubt that morn would bring to life her secret fears upon her lap lay all his letters bound the multitude of dreams that he had shared his picture slipped from fingers to the ground along with all the hopes that he had bared she pressed to heaving chest the latest one in which he pledged his love undying true He hoped with rose her heart he'd finally won it was a symbol of his passion's hue all this she pondered as she sat and sighed for love forbidden had to be denied Jade Celeste

Yes, Eileen, forbidden love has to be denied; if not, complications would arise and hearts could easily be hurt and broken, irreparably. Such love usually gets relegated to the lands of fantasy, where escapism finds fertile soil. Hugs // paul

I have no regrets, I have been blessed to know love in all it's intricacies and it prepared me for a lasting love.

Yes, I know that...and that's why I'm so happy for you. You got what you wanted...lasting and true love. You didn't compromise on that, and you were rewarded. Wishing you all the best. :)

This moves me at a deepened level. I have felt this longing and she chose another. It was not a forbidden love but a love triangle none the less. My heart had been consumed by her but I could not abide a non exclusive love. I made an ultimatum and was not the victor.

Richard...your post has moved me. She is a fool to let someone of your caliber of faith and integrity go. Her loss, Mary's gain. It doesn't make the pain easier....I know. Unrequited love is hard to bear. In a relationship there must be nurture and care. If there is reciprocal love, forbidden love would not be so alluring. You are the victor. You stood for and demanded her whole heart. You made a clean break. I'm glad in your situation....it was something you could follow through on. Sending hugs.

Forbidden love? How so sweet poetess? Does not love conquer all or is this just my romantic heart setting the scene for more pain and tears? Forbidden or no the old adage it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all is the creed that I would live by. love Shane xxx

I didn't say one must give in to the allure of forbidden love, Shane...though it is tempting. There is only so far one can go. Thank you for your visit. I don't know if I agree with that adage. It's better not to love than feel the sting of betrayal. Hope all is well with you. :) sending hugs

Ah yes, how we can be tempted to see a forbidden love -- the sweetness, newness, sensual abandonment . . . but alas crossing that boundary is a slippery slope! You captures this tension perfectly in your words LO. 7

Thanks, David. Yes, "the forbidden is always sweeter." As the saying goes. So many films and movies and books on this theme. There is an allure. Yes...it is a slippery slope. Thanks for reading my writes. Look forward to writing something with you. Hugs
