Forbidden Fruit

A yearning to reach out To touch what I cannot pursue Must be buried deep inside To avoid being misconstrued Gazes shared across the room One from me, one from you Piercing through each other's eyes To a place only the other knew Inside a dark and endless chasm To where hope lay but never grew Aching for just a moment or two One from me, one from you Thoughts plague and roam my mind While I try not to be consumed However, I often think if you As my own piece of forbidden fruit
