Forbidden Fruit

I knew that instant, the very first day Bad case of 'caught up in the moment' Senses abused, you blew me away Chemical, violent and potent For one perfect week, I try to deny Cant tell the affect that you have Beats me and eats me and kills me inside I fear if I speak, you will laugh Compare me to you, I'm nothing, a germ A something you'd find on your shoe I don't want you ruined but I'll never learn I must keep my filthy hands off you I'd cover the distance and wait for an age I kneel and I pray that you feel the same way. 09 June 2011

Terrific sonnet, Jodie. Loved the emotion, especially the way you describe how the effect of this man's "beats me and eats me and kills me inside." Quite compelling and I wish you success in Francine's contest. Love, Carolyn

Excellent write, when someone isn't right for us I suppose they are like forbidden fruit. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0052U4O5U
