For Oblivion
(Inspired by Joe Bonamassa's "Midnight Hours")
Oh, how I hate
when sunlight has fled,
Misery visits
as I lie in bed.
I simply can’t sleep.
I just feel so bad.
By midnight’s hour
I’m sadder than sad.
The clock keeps on ticking
and louder it seems
as I keep wishing
to fall into dreams
Chorus:
Thoughts of you swirling and swirling around.
Where can the sweetness of comfort be found?
I need to forget you. I’m coming undone.
I beg and I beg
for Oblivion.
Oh to just dream
this sadness away.
Instead with moroseness
the whole night I stay.
If I could only
get some shut-eye.
I’m feeling so blue
I just want to die.
This dirge in the darkness
keeps coming to me.
Please let me escape
my reality.
Chorus:
Thoughts of you swirling and swirling around.
Where can the sweetness of comfort be found?
I need to forget you. I’m coming undone.
I beg and I beg
for Oblivion.
Oblivion take me, take me away.
Oh, for oblivion
each night I pray
(repeat last two lines till end of song)
