My blood sugar soars after this delightful read. Now I crave a chocolate bar. Thank you, Gary, for a sweet tooth write. Enjoyed the sugar slide. Cheers Brian

Thanks Brian! The funny thing is I could have made the sugar slide even sweeter by adding at least another 10 items to the list :) If only I hadn't eaten so many sweets as a child though..other than this poem I've paid for it through dentist bills. :) Cheers - Gary

Love your poem. I enjoyed all those same sweets. I was born in the 1980's in England. Congratulations on your winning placement.

Thanks Joanna. I can remember the sweets of my past more than anything. It explains my dentist bills now I guess. :) Cheers - Gary

Hi Greg. Thank you and I love your term 'confection collection' :) It says something about me when I remember the names of all the sweets I ate as a kid half a century ago but have difficulty remembering what the heck I did last week! Cheers - Gary

Holy sweet shops! Gary. This is a masterpiece of a menu, with enough comfort treats to lift a tragic symphony of sadness. Skilled rhymes and rhythms. Wish I’d written it.

Thanks Geoffrey..this is the third of a 'trilogy' (he says rather pretentiously) of poems that I have written in a similar vein. The others are 'Jukebox' and 'The TV Times'. I was thinking of writing a similar type of poem including names of poets at PS but I haven't got round to it ..and not sure that I will. :) Cheers - Gary
