For 2017
Here comes the New Year
Like you, I shall welcome it with grand pomp
And celebration!
I already have my list of resolutions ready
The past year shall I consider grand
But still, it shall be history!
Now, shall I stick to my one resolution
The one I have claimed always to stick to
At the coming of each new year!
This new year, I shall smile and relax my mind
My shoulders and my nervously beating heart
Yes, this new year, I shall take life lightly
Smile at the face of adversity
And deal with stress accordingly!
Pray, I shall also arm my soul with gratitude
For, mind you
Life is a gift
And whatever it has given me so far
Has been more than enough for me
It has always been my motto
To take from life only as much as we require
Why
I had read somewhere that
Life can rebel, if we are to be greedy about its offerings!
This year, I shall take into consideration that I have lots already
Too much in fact
And that I shall put all of that into good use
Yes
I shall be selfless;
No more seeking for myself
No more seeking to appease my tantrums
No more seeking to calm my yearnings
Rather
I shall smile
Keep a cold and composed stature
And hand out a hand to life
While telling it,
Life you can count on me!
I shall help you!
Yes
You bet, I shall!
It matters not, in the end, if the yearnings of my mundane self
Are not appeased
It matters not
For, the mundane is subject to change
The mundane is not legitimate
The mundane shall perish
Shall remain, only the mystery of my soul
Pure and certainly made of the same matter as particles
Such a consciousness
Desires not
Such a consciousness
Merely seeks to please its maker
So
Why not start now
At the coming of the New Year!
