Follow Me
If what you seek is mediocrity
Then you'd better not follow me
Though I fight and sometimes struggle
These are only minor hurdles
I will jump them one by one
Until my dreams and goals are won
I will not settle, will not stop
Learn from all I've gained and lost
I will rise, I will succeed
Be prepared for this if you follow me
If it's true we each have 15 minutes of fame
Then I choose to relive mine, again and again
They may not know me, but they'll know my name
And when I'm gone, that part of me remains
It's not the reason that I write
Not the reason I share what I have inside
But I must admit, when the day is done
If my words have touched someone
Then I've fulfilled my purpose, my job complete
And I'll share it all with you, if you'll follow me
Don't follow me if you want just to survive
Because each day I strive to be more alive
I want more than to just exist
To live in love and peace my fondest wish
I am glory and honor bound
While my feet are firmly on the ground
I can walk, but I choose to run
Toward that moment in the sun
It's not the end, but the beginning I seek
And you can find it too, if you follow me
