Flannery O'Connor's World
In Flannery I read
a world I seldom saw
knew was always there
just beyond the rise
of every hill
on the other side
of every wall
I knew it was there
could smell heard tell
of it – but more
it was deep inside of me
and when words of it
would rise and well
they fell back into
a place kept for words
too hard to tell
