Flaming

I suck in the humiliation Swallow whole this empty, unending despair-- And my face buries a flamed smile Caught in my last breath Through the heat of dusk's pyre. It's almost inexplicable Those daunting words almost unheard- And the hurt seethes within soul's embers Too rasping for decadent words. Again I hide this gripping smile Caught in my last breath, As the yell transcends beyond hours of dusk Lunging at my repute without logic, With much unfounded jealousy- For being focused on work Which allows enough comfort in life? I want to know who is the better person When I am deprived of affection By caring for a home and coming To this room, spent--- needing appreciation. You write with such passion and honesty in this poem. Yet your vulnerability shines through as well. It takes skill to write in such a way. Very well done. My best. Deb
