Five Months Has Past

I walk along life's well worn path I reach for your hand Air is within my grasp Songbirds of equivocal expression Are my spirits band The Suns' penetrating rays warm Upon my allusive mask of a face As salty tears flow as if in a race Five months have past my love Since your physical body eroded And your dark soul swept away No more suffering for you Freedom has found you now Five months has past my love And still my damaged heart Searches for a sign from you But then you the unspiritual Monotone, unyielding, phragmatic Quiet moments filter my memory Rectify the past I know I did right by you Five months has past my love They don't make band aids for broken hearts Only time can heal

The last two lines are a magnificent culmination to a superbly written poem. '...songbirds of equivocal expression,' '...upon my allusive mask of a face,' '...freedom has found you now.' A deeply emotional write! BRAVO Kelli!! Keith
